The construction works for a bypass road on the northern edge of the city of Cholpon-Ata, on the western shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, have uncovered a first-rate archaeological site that promises to provide new data on the peoples who inhabited the steppes of Central Asia during the Iron Age.
