The K. Kozhomkul Sports Palace in Bishkek is closing for an indefinite period for major renovations. The facility will be handed over to the Bishkek City Hall after May 10 for extensive reconstruction and the construction of a new swimming pool.
In early 2026, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree for the renovation of the Sports Palace. Although the building is under the Ministry of Culture, its reconstruction will be handled by the city municipality.
